Ratna Chandra was born in a small village in Guyana, South America, where vibrant stories, superstitions, and her grandfather’s tales shaped her earliest sense of wonder. After moving to New York at an early age, she embraced the contrasts of urban life while holding fast to the cultural richness of her roots.
Inspired by Eastern Mysticism, Ratna writes fantasy that blends high adventure that explore awakening, choice, and transformation. Her debut Young Adult fantasy novel, Son of Prophecy, is the first volume in the Shades of Light duology.
Shades of Light, the luminous conclusion to the duology - releasing soon - brings the journey full circle with a story that captivates, enchants, and lingers long after the final page.
